<Messiah> I have switched all PMs to ignore now, so don't bother.
<Messiah> Any announcements this week?

<Spinner> Where the heck did last week go (-:

<Spinner> As people know, 2 hardware things will be sorted this week
<Spinner> 1: We will get new motherboards and more memory in all 4 webservers
<Spinner> 2: We will get the new DB machine some time around the end of the week (friday)
<Spinner> We dont know EXACTLY when the hardware will reach us
<Spinner> So no EXACT eta on either one of those
<Spinner> But hopefully by the end of the week
<Spinner> Next thing:
<Vish> we hope that the new database server will be ready by the end of next week
<Spinner> I will release a bit more info about the next round later this week
<Spinner> Was hopeing to do it last week, but Fudge was ill most of last week (I am sure he is to blaim for this flu)

<Messiah> at last count, there were around 800 submitted questions

<Messiah> It seems that when it comes down to it, the only people that PDS actually helps is the big people. Newbies build it thinking it will help, when in fact it does nothing but waste resources and force people to defend in situations when they wouldn't if not for the threat of losing all of their PDS. Given this, will there be any changes in PDS next round? 
<Spinner> Actually, all ships and PDS will be different, in some way next round
<Spinner> And the above is at least partly true in some situations
<Spinner> So, YES, we are taking steps to avoid this

<Messiah> Will u be able to play in both Universe's next round, as u can't farm off each planet u have the different universes ? 
<Spinner> k, again, next round, there is ONLY 1 UNIVERSE
<Spinner> its the round after we will do the split, if we will do one

<Messiah> The local time displayed near the server time would be nice, as well as time remained until the next tick. Also, there is no clock in galaxy news for a reason unbeknownst to me. As well, the "Time remaining until the arrival of hostile fleet" would be useful. Can it be implemented?

<Spinner> We are considering to move away from ANY timezone
<Vish> we must be better of informing when things happen
<Spinner> And move to PT, Planetario time, like a "stardate"

<Vish> I do hope we will not use ETA, but rather the exact time when it arrives

<Messiah> Can it be made that we can set and attack pattern so that two fleets from different alliances will attack each other when attacking or defend the same planet
<Fudge> The missing time on the galaxy news is fixed in my sources, but I came down with the flu before I could update the game.

<Spinner> That might very well be an effect of the new alliance system we see
<Spinner> But no solids on it yet, we are unable to continue testing and implementation of new features until we have moved the boards to a new machine at Chello, which will happen AFTER the webservers and new DB machine are in place

<Messiah> I think that Eonium should become a much more useful resource than it currently is, do u have any plans to add new ships etc which are more reliant on Eonium?

<Messiah> next round - would it be possible to highlight a player who is under attack in the galaxy screen? So if someone has incoming, you can see them(red?) on the galaxy screen.

<Spinner> We have a scetch of it up, and indeed, we hope to make it easier to seee who is underattack when, by how much, and so on

<Zeus> one page showing all the enemy/allie status of your galaxy frineds
<Spinner> NO, we are not making it possible to utterly destroy someone, hence remove the account

<Messiah> can u bring back the MOD or at least the ability for GC or someone to keep money seperate as we are trying to run a defence fund in my gal buts its difficult to keep the money without spending some and u always have to try and keep a running total in politics
<Spinner> Yes, we have plans to re-instate the MOD
<Messiah> Why not add some "random events" next round? To "piff" up the game? Ship breaks down during spacetravel, aliens visits and donates ships, asteroid hits your planet and destroys xxx PDS, etc.

<Spinner> pherhaps scripted events to enable mroe storytelling, but we dont really think its realistic now...

<Messiah> RE: newbie bashing...is it possible to disable attacks under the given condition: Attacker's planet score is greater than or equal to defending GALAXY's score?

<Spinner> We have thought about hardcoded solutions for a long time

<Spinner> So we wil have to balance it better, so you dont gain anything by hitting small planets

<Messiah> Is it possible to have interest sorta thing for the resources that you have? Like you get 1% of the amount of resource you currently have add to what you have?

<Messiah> why not add a 5 hour "mini vacation" mode to the game? It would help give people back their lives which you have conviently taken away from us, so that if you are going to be good, you must have either an awesome galaxy, or an awesome whipped set of friends to news scan you all the time. someone really really good in a newbie galaxy will not survive... so they need all the help they can get

<Spinner> Also, we are making it easier for people to coordinate their galaxies since you can choose what people you share galaxy with

<Spinner> I dont think we can have a 5 hour safe time every day, as it is only natural with some times being better suitedd for attacks

<Messiah> i have heard in the next round that we will be able to vote out inactives, is that true. and what are u going to do about inactives as they r tying up the game
<Spinner> Yes, we will include some way of voting players out of a galaxy, given enough votes for it
<Spinner> Inactives will be deleted as they are today
<Spinner> DO not log in for 1 week, and you are deleted

<Spinner> We do see that rounds lasting longer than 3 months might not be too desirable

<Messiah> Why does the MoC's colour have to be pink. Surely we could find a better colour for them. After all i wouldn't be caught dead in Pink. I've been offered the job twice, but I've turned it down because of the colour. it deserves more than 5% to wear that dreadful colour.

<Messiah> Why do ships burn all their fuel when launching? Won't it be more realistic if the fuel cost would be spread out over the hours they are actually away, we wouldn't be wasting all that much eonium when we accidently enter the wrong coordinates, or when we have to recall after two hours.

<Spinner> And bottom line is, its much nicer for ticker and DB to just deduct it when you launch, not every hour (-:

<Messiah> Do EMP turrets shoot randomly after fighters and corvettes are gone? There seems to be a lot of confusion about this.

<Vish> there is nothing to confirm, it works exactly as you expect

<Vish> e.g. they do not shoot upon 'the rest' when their specific targets are shot down
<Messiah> how about making custom ships ? like u can get better armor but less firepower and so one.

<Messiah> can't u make a possibilty, that people can see, if a message is send to all MoCs in the cluster or to all people in a galaxy? at the moment there's no difference between normal message and mass message

<Messiah> Is it possible that if two friends want to be in a galaxy they can switch, or create there own galaxy or something of that sort cause we both signed up at the same time and yet still didn't get in the same galaxy now we are disapointed.
